Varavara Rao on Polavaram and Ichampally

 "With a view to serving comprador interests – to provide a business corridor for multinational companies between Kakinada and Visakhapatnam, the Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy government has been working for the construction of the Polavaram project on a war footing.  The government has sanctioned the maximum funds to this project, ignoring any Telangana project", said Mr. Varavara Rao.  For now, the government stopped working on the project owing to the directions of the Supreme Court's empowered committee.  In the event of completion of Polavaram project, Telangana would remain a parched land forever.

 Tribal lands

As a Maoist ideologue, he said he was also against the Ichampalli project, as tribal lands in Maharashtra would be submerged.
